A Quick Update

I've very much fallen behind these updates. I feel not great about that – but anywho, here's a quick update on what I've been working on with theatre + tech.

Open Broadway Data

A project which aims to collect, display, and analyze data from all Broadway shows since 1738.

I've been working with a team since May 2020 in creating this open data platform which will massively increase access to data for the theatre industry. We're still in development but hope to formally release by December 1, 2020.

Black Theatre Coalition Database

An open data platform for black theatre professionals.

I've been working with Warren Adams, a collaborator from OBD, on a project to increase access to black theatre professionals. I'm really satisfied with the design and ease of the interface we developed together. (Also, check out how fast the user interactions are! Less than 60ms!)

Artists Who Code

An online community of artists exploring the world of tech in a fun and supportive environment.

Hands down, my favorite people on the internet. This group is comprised of artists, most of which are in the performance arts, who've made the career transition into tech. (Pandemic is a major driving force.) The group is incredibly supportive and inspiring.

Google Cloud Certified

This past spring, I studied for and passed the Google Cloud certification exam.

Such certification demonstrates competency in Cloud development. I'm really proud of this achievement.

Also: while studying, I was dissatisfied with the available study guides and recommended steps offered online. Since, I've written my own: Studying for the Google Cloud Associate Engineer Certification

​If you're a Data Scientist looking to have a richer understanding of DevOps / MLOps, I highly recommend this certification as learning path.
